Guadalupe Capistran
Guadalupe is a member/owner of Radiate Consulting Cooperative, where she offers group facilitation using popular education methodology and connection to services. She is a teacher of Mental Health classes, a Community Worker, and a Scientific Health Worker.
Guadalupe supported the Dreamers movement in the city of Santa Ana, which was a very enriching experience for her. Providing support to vulnerable families and immigrant communities has been very important in her life.
She was born in the city of Puebla, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 32. She is a proud mother of 3 children and a grandson with whom she enjoys spending her best time. She enjoys getting to know and interacting with different cultures. As an immigrant, she realized the importance of community support in education. Guadalupe obtained certification from Chapman University as a Community Worker, she became certified as a Mental Health Para Professional at Santa Ana College, and she also obtained her Certification of classes for Families with Mental Health Dx from NAMI, where she works as a volunteer.
She is currently taking the CITI course, Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative, and CIRT, Community Participation in Research Training at UCI. Guadalupe worked at PADRES UNIDOS where she learned that "Successful families build successful communities." She embraces diversity and supports education for the transformation and change of families and communities.
Guadalupe es miembra/dueña de la cooperativa Radiate Consulting, donde ofrece facilitación de grupos con metodología de educación popular y conexión a servicios. Es maestra de clases de Salud Mental, Trabajadora Comunitaria y Trabajadora de la Salud Científica.
Guadalupe apoyó el movimiento de los Soñadores en la ciudad de Santa Ana, siendo esto una experiencia muy enrriquecedora. Brindar apoyo a las familias vulnerables y comunidades inmigrantes ha sido muy importante en su vida.
Ella nació en la ciudad de Puebla México, emigró a los Estados Unidos a la edad de 32 años. Es orgullosa madre de 3 hijos y un nieto con quienes le gusta pasar su mejor tiempo. Le gusta conocer y convivir con diferentes culturas. Como inmigrante se dio cuenta de la importancia del apoyo en la comunidad con la educación. Guadalupe obtuvo una certificación en la Universidad de Chapman como Trabajadora Comunitaria, se certificó como Profesional en Salud Mental en el College De Santa Ana, también obtuvo su Certificación de clases para Familias con Dx de Salud Mental con NAMI donde trabaja como voluntaria.
Actualmente estudia el curso de CITI , Iniciativa de Formación Institucional Colaborativa y CIRT, Participacion Comunitaria en la Formación de Investigacion en UCI. Guadalupe trabajó en PADRES UNIDOS donde aprendió que las “Familias exitosas, construyen comunidades exitosas". Abraza la diversidad y apoya la educación para la transformación y cambio de las familias y comunidades.
